I put off releasing this album for so long because it feels incomplete. In its current state, this project is still very raw and unpolished, but I've come to terms with the idea that it doesn't have to be anything perfect. This project was always meant to be an expression of how I felt when I was writing it. I was living by myself in a single bed dorm room, and I had never felt lonelier in my entire life. On top of everything, I was still processing the death of a close friend, and harbored a great deal of self-hatred in the aftermath. Some of that was evident on my first EP, but while that project ended up being something of a facade, working on this album was a healing process. I got to come to terms with everything that happened, however ugly the truth seemed at times. I named this album "Waterworks" after the catharsis that came with its creation and, now, its release, in whatever state it may be in. I hope that despite its jagged edges, you can still find something beautiful in it.

I'd like to thank everyone who encouraged me throughout the creative process. Thank you for putting up with my late-night texts and frustrated outbursts. A very special thanks to Cam for the support and the work you put into this project, and to all the special people in my life: Soda, Brigit, Papu, Ashley, Gabby, Cinder, Tarrot, Trent, and the countless others I am inevitably forgetting about.
